About us

Hi, we’re RouseClay, a small tea ware studio tucked along the gentle banks of the Ou River in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. This is where our story begins—surrounded by the river’s quiet flow, the soft hills, and the traditions of a city that has nurtured ceramic art for centuries.

Our passion lies in Ou Kiln porcelain, the birthplace of Chinese celadon, older than even the famous Long Kiln celadon. Growing up in Wenzhou, I remember watching skilled hands shape clay in the local workshops, the soft sound of wheels turning, the scent of wet earth—and that memory inspired us to start RouseClay.

Our main focus is on Ou Kiln celadon, but we also craft other pieces to suit modern lifestyles. Every piece we make, from delicate tea cups to complete tea sets, matcha sets, and even modern mugs, is handcrafted with care. We pay attention to every detail, from shaping the clay to the final glaze, so that when you hold one of our pieces, you can feel the warmth and history behind it. We like to imagine each cup carrying a little story from our hometown, connecting our past with your daily moments of tea and reflection.

We know that tea culture can feel intimidating sometimes. That’s why we design our products to be both beautiful and practical, so you can enjoy a calming ritual, whether it’s a quiet morning with matcha or sharing tea with friends. We also include little tips and stories with some of our sets, so each cup comes with a touch of guidance and inspiration.

At RouseClay, honesty and care are at the heart of everything we do. Every item is checked by hand before it leaves our studio, carefully packaged, and treated as if it were going to our own table. And we love hearing from you—your questions, stories, and feedback are what help us grow.

Our hope is simple: to share the beauty and heritage of Ou Kiln celadon with tea lovers, culture enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the elegance of Eastern traditions. Thank you for letting RouseClay be part of your tea moments. When you hold our tea ware, you’re not just enjoying a cup—you’re holding a piece of history, shaped with love and care.

Welcome to our table! Welcome to RouseClay!
