- Silvering is a traditional surface treatment process, essentially a heat treatment technique. Food-grade silver is ground into a fine powder, mixed, and then applied to the surface of a ceramic (or metal) cup. The powder is then calcined multiple times at high temperatures (usually above 800°C) to securely bond the silver layer to the base.
- With normal use, it is harmless to the human body.
- Using silver-plated teaware to hold tea can inhibit bacterial growth to a certain extent, keeping the tea purer. Avoid using silver-plated teacups for extended periods of time with acidic beverages. Use a soft cloth to clean the cups, and avoid scratching with hard objects such as steel wool to avoid damaging the silver layer.
