This teapot is crafted from Huangduan clay purple clay and is inspired by Xi Shi, one of the Four Great Beauties of Ancient China. Its body mimics the beauty's voluptuous and graceful curves. Its spherical shape concentrates aromas, while its short spout allows for rapid water flow and prevents suffocation. It is suitable for highly aromatic oolong teas (such as Tieguanyin) and Pu'er ripe teas.

This design was first created by Ming Dynasty purple clay craftsman Xu Youquan and refined by Qing Dynasty master teamaker Wang Yinchun.

Huangduan mud's geological origin: Minerals from the unique fault zone of Huanglong Mountain in Yixing, a product of the quartzite-clay transition zone (1.5-2.8% iron content, coloring from titanium).

Firing Characteristics:
1180°C oxidizing flame → beeswax yellow
1220°C reducing flame → cold golden yellow
Rare kiln-fired changes → subtle golden sand (origin of the name "Duan Ni").
